BEVERLY JEAN WHITE
MUSCATINE, Iowa – Beverly J. White, 84, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00pm until 4:00pm on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Rendezvous, 3127 Lucas Street Muscatine, Iowa 52761. The Ralph J. Bev was born on July 16, 1939, in Burlington, the daughter of George Henry and May U. (Huffman) Wills. She married Wayne J. White on October 9, 1965, at St. Mary’s Church in Muscatine.
Bev graduated from Burlington High School in 1958 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University in 1962.
During her years of employment, Bev held many executive positions. She worked as a buyer at both Carson Pirie Scott and H.C. Prange. Bev was President of Outdoor Recreation Corporation and Vice-President/Director of Quality Foundry Co. She was also a member of the Board of Directors of First National Bank and Iowa First Bancshares Corporation.
Bev generously volunteered her time to the community. She was a President of the Muscatine Chamber of Commerce and Development Corporation. She was also on the Board of Directors for the YWCA, the YMCA, Senior Resources, Eastern Iowa Tourism Council, Geneva Country Club, and the American Fishing Tackle Manufacturers Association. Bev was a member of the Sister City Organization, American Heart Association, Rotary Club of Muscatine, and numerous other community organizations.
In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers, fishing, genealogy, and spending time with her family and friends.
Bev is survived by her husband, Wayne, of Muscatine; two children, Matt White and his wife, Angela, of Ankeny, Iowa and Kathy Wittich and her husband, Rod, of Solon, Iowa; four grandsons, Daniel and Michael White, and Rodney and William Wittich; four nieces, Deane Ann Elliott (Wade), Susan Lindell (Dean), Tricia Gonzalez (Nacho), and Amy Gorham (Phil); and two nephews, Jay White (Cyndy), and Andy White.
She is preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Ambrose Lodermeier; grandparents; her brother, Gene Wills; three sisters, Barbara Wills, Doris Wills, and Mildred Lane; one niece, Wanda Yaeger; and one nephew, George Wills.
